Trivia:
Since Jem is nominated for an Academy Award for the movie "Starbright", it must mean it's not been much more than a year in the series since that episode.

There's a newspaper called "Daily-News" which has the headlines "Jem nominated for Oscar". A magazine called "ROCKSCENE" says "Rock industry salutes academy nominee - Jem!"

There are some characters that are supposed to be real actors, like "Signourney Reaver" (Sigourney Weaver), Meryl Saint (Meryl Streep), Geraldine Pathos (Geraldine Page) Flint Westwood (Clint Eastwood), Michael J. Badger (Michael J. Fox).

Here Harriet Horn is spelt without the "E" at the end of "Horn".

According to Harriet Horn, Jem is Rock's hottest sensation.

The Harriet Horn show is sponsored by Cool Trash magazine.

A woman on TV, representing Cool Trash magazine, looks very much like Georgia from the Starlight three parter episodes. Apparently modelled after the same model cel.

The picture Jem is filming is called "Future Rock", it's directed by H. Moore, and filmed by C. Smith.

Jem wears her own clothes in the film.

Kimber, Sean, and another man is bathing in a bubblebath with their clothes on.

Sean says the line "Come on in the water's fine" which is the title of a Jem song.

Jeff thinks Sean is a wimp.

The writer, Roger Slifer, did something with this episode that could had been done already for "Glitter and Gold" by Christy Marx. Making the fight of Kimber be between Jeff and Sean, rather than bring some unknown guy, Max, into the story. Perhaps Christy wasn't able to learn about the episode where Kimber befriended Sean when she wrote the "Glitter and Gold" episode, but Kimber having two boyfriends was something Roger cleverly tackled in this episode, and it was a funny situation that need to be addressed, atleast in a clever cartoon like Jem.

There is a character working in the jewelry store that looks very much like one that appeared in the Starbright three parter. Apparently they used the same character model, but new colors. Same character shows up in the "Jem Jam Part 1", with different colors.

The song "Too Close" by Jem and the Holograms is re-used. Previously appeared in the episode "Frame Up".
