These nine short public service announcements appeared at the end of some of the episodes in the original airing of the cartoon. Christy Marx was hired to write them all (although most of them appear after episodes not written by Christy), to add some moral advice to the viewers. Each clip was setup the way that some of the Starlight Girls, or friends of them, got into a troublesome situation where they were faced with a decision of what the right thing to do is, and Jem and/or the Holograms show up telling them what to do, and each clip ended with the line "doing the right thing makes you a superstar".

Moral messages like this was common for cartoons of the 80's, although in my opinion Jem didn't seem to overdo it to the point it got too obvious and cheesy like some other 80's cartoons did, and Jem was good enough at offering good values already in the episodes (see the episodes marked with "Message" in the episode guide) aswell as in the songs.
