Jem ended far too soon. There are so many stories that could have been made. Fortunately there's
all the books and comics. I find them very interesting and almost like their own episodes. Some
are written in the same style as the cartoon episodes, and some are very exciting. Here's trying to
make them fit in as if they were part of the cartoon series. If they are to be part of the Jem
universe, they need to be placed somewhere. You'll notice though, that most of them introduce Jem
and take place early compared to the cartoon.
Mini World: 4 stories. Takes place before the end of "The Beginning", while Eric still owns half of Starlight
Music, where Jerrica and Eric both work. And Jerrica and the Holograms live at Starlight House.
This is a situation that we never saw in the cartoon. Because in the cartoon, Jerrica wouldn't go back
to Starlight Music until she won it back. Although one of these books contain a story similar to
Kimber's Rebellion where Kimber is jealous of Jem, which would place this somewhere in the third
episode.
UK comics: 31 stories. Eric still owns half of Starlight Music, the Misfits are signed, and Jerrica and
Eric are partners, promoting the rival groups. Jerrica and the Holograms live at Starlight House.
UK 1987 Annual: 6 stories. Eric still owns half of Starlight Music.
UK Little Owl Superstars: 4 stories. Takes place while Eric still owns half of Starlight Music.
US Hardcover book: Battle of the Bands:
Same story as in the first five episodes. Jem and the Holograms win the mansion and Jerrica
gains total control of Starlight Music.
Mexican comics: Atleast 11 stories. Tells partly the same story as the above. As for the rest I'm not sure.
US Hardcover book: Spoils Of Success:
Takes place after the first five episodes. Jem and the Holograms are surprised to see Eric out of jail.
US Books Find Your Fate: 3 stories. Takes place when Jerrica owns Starlight Music herself. Still no characters
like Video, Clash, Danse, Techrat, Raya or Jetta. I would place this before
the Starbright episodes. Danielle is included.
US paperback books: 4 stories. Jerrica and the Holograms live at Starlight Mansion. No new characters.
Would place before Starbright.
UK 1988 Annual: 7 stories.
The only book that includes characters like Video, Clash, Danse, and Raya. But not Jetta! This places
these stories after the Talent Search episodes. Strangely, Zipper is still around. Jem and the
Holograms (including Raya) live in Starlight House.
