Behind the scenes:
The character Joanie was named after a person Christy worked with on a production company.

This episode was expanded with extra scenes and/or partly re-animated.

In the Jem and the Holograms music video for the song "Show Me The Way" there are some airplanes that look like they could be meant as Transformers, perhaps Starscream (and the title of this episode is after all Starbright), and it's a futuristic scene with a robot.

The actor Errol Flynn (1909-1959) is mentioned.

Jerrica would risk her life for the Starlight Girls.

Ba Nee likes to read.

Ba Nee has her own room in Starlight Mansion.
